MICHAEL G. COMFORT, Attorney at Law
Mike Comfort has been a licensed attorney since 1977. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA coming to California in 1969 where he attended the University of San Francisco, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1973. He then attended Lincoln University Law School where he graduated and passed the Bar Exam in 1977. Mike Comfort also worked for the City of San Francisco and for a private law firm while attending law school.
Having started his own practice in June 1978, he quickly gravitated to emphasizing consumer bankruptcy law which he has practiced exclusively since 1980. He has taught consumer bankruptcy at the civic, college and professional levels. Due to his extensive knowledge and experience, he has been quoted by CNN News, USA Today and the Kiplinger Letter, and also been a guest speaker on KLAW radio and has appeared on Public Television for both local and national programming.
Mike has been a consulted advisor to thousands of consumers and small business owners for more than three decades. He works with all three Bay Area Bankruptcy Courts in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. Mike’s personal manner with clients is genuine and empathetic. He knows the issues that keep you up at night and has a successful track record of addressing and remedying those issues. Leigh Comfort has worked as a paralegal for over two decades and manages the operation functions of the Comfort Law Office. She is often the client’s first point of contact and enjoys a stellar reputation in effectively handling client issues with a proactive knowledge of bankruptcy. Leigh’s ability to understand and sense each client’s personal experience provides our clients with the opportunity to feel understood and supported throughout the bankruptcy process. Leigh is a California native, graduating from Mercy High School in Burlingame, and then attending the University of San Francisco where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Sociology.
